Seawolf Public House in Jack London Square will close permanently on July 19 after nearly nine years of operation. The pub featured a variety of food offerings, including burgers and tacos, along with 16 taps and a full bar. Owner Monica Plazola cited challenges and an upcoming lease expiration as reasons for closing. A silent auction will be held on July 12 to help with outstanding debt, along with final events including trivia and comedy shows before closure. Community support has been a significant aspect during their operational years.
"We have weathered our fair share of challenges, but our lease is up at the end of summer and we are not able to continue operating the business any longer," said Monica Plazola, one of Seawolf's owners, in a closing announcement.
"We've had a lot of love and support from the community and it's really hard to close the doors, but we have to say goodbye."
"We encourage everyone to come by, raise a glass, and make the most of our final time together," Plazola said.
The pub first opened on February 14, 2017, and will host its final trivia night on July 16 and a final comedy show on July 19 as it marks the closing.
