The release stated, The grocery store will offer an extensive selection of authentic Japanese groceries, fresh produce, seafood, ready-to-eat meals and hard-to-find imported foods and goods all under one roof. Osaka Marketplace originally opened in Fremont in 2021 and is known for its grab-and-go sushi deals and indoor foot court."
"The food court in Pleasant Hill will be partially outdoor, as the supermarket plans to reuse the former hardware store's garden center as a semi-outdoor market hall with several mini restaurants, featuring sushi, ramen, chicken karaage and bento boxes. The new marketplace will join a handful of new destinations in downtown Pleasant Hill, including Cantina Jack's, Paris Baguette, Crumbs, The Royale, Morgan Territory Brewing and the Batter N' Icing cupcakery."
Osaka Marketplace will open in Pleasant Hill in November 2026, occupying the 42,000-square-foot space formerly occupied by Orchard Supply Hardware. The supermarket will offer authentic Japanese groceries, fresh produce, seafood, ready-to-eat meals and hard-to-find imported foods and goods all under one roof. The food court will be partially outdoor, reusing the former hardware store's garden center as a semi-outdoor market hall with several mini restaurants serving sushi, ramen, chicken karaage and bento boxes. Osaka Marketplace began in Fremont in 2021 and is expanding with a Foster City location expected to open in November 2025, with hiring already underway.
