Hyphy Burger is ready for its close-up
Briefly

Hyphy Burger opened in West Oakland in February, with a grand opening set for August 2. It is co-founded by Darion Frazier, rapper Guap, and entrepreneur Zack Alwajeeh. The team has been intentional in creating the restaurant, taking years to develop the concept, recipes, and branding. The restaurant is located in a historic building and aims to serve the local community. The name reflects the cultural roots in Oakland’s hip-hop scene, particularly inspired by the Hyphy movement.
The trio has been deliberate about every step of the process, from the concept to the recipes, decor and uniforms.

It was three years of trial and error thinking up the idea behind Hyphy and how we'd do it.
