Americans expect to spend an average of $175 on Thanksgiving dinner this year, according to a Nielsen survey. Oakland's Buttercup Diner is offering a Thanksgiving Family Feast serving four to six people for $110, available as a preordered take-home, heat-and-serve meal. The package includes 2 pounds of slow-roasted turkey breast, cornbread sage stuffing, garlic mashed potatoes, fresh vegetables, turkey gravy, cranberry sauce, Caesar salad and a choice of pumpkin or pecan pie. The Jack London Square location expects to sell at least 200 preordered dinners during Thanksgiving week. Buttercup is family-owned since 1988 with locations in Oakland, Vallejo, Concord and Walnut Creek; preorders run Monday through Wednesday while supplies last and locations are closed on Thanksgiving Day.
