A Black Cultural Zone hub in East Oakland is moving forward with a $1 million grant from Wells Fargo to build homes and a marketplace near Eastmont Mall, aiming to revitalize the area.
The mixed-use development will include a 119-unit affordable housing complex and a marketplace to support Black, Indigenous, and other people of color businesses in the Bay Area Black Cultural Zone.
