Mesón, a new restaurant in North Berkeley, is modeled after the beloved César tapas spot. It features many original staff members, including head chef Juan Gomez and consulting chef Maggie Pond. Cameron McVeigh, the former general manager of César, has been searching for a location since César's closure in 2022. After challenges in securing a location, McVeigh found a site on Gilman Street. The restaurant will replace the former Three One Four Pizzeria, with an opening date yet to be announced.
