A woman was assaulted in her home in Piedmont after two men broke in while she was sleeping. The incident occurred shortly before 12:30 a.m. on Scenic Avenue. The assailants demanded cash and assaulted her when she could not comply. They ransacked the house but fled when another resident returned home and called 911. Police used Flock Safety camera footage to locate one suspect's vehicle, which was towed in Oakland. The police are investigating and advising residents to secure their homes.
