Two killed in recent east Contra Costa County shootings are identified
"38-year-old Martinez resident Edward Garofalo IV was down with a gunshot wound when Contra Costa County Sheriff's Office deputies arrived to the 3200 block of Dutch Slough Road about 8:50 p.m. Tuesday. He died at the scene."
"The other shooting happened on Feb. 19 and killed 20-year-old Antioch resident Dimon Commodore. Antioch police officers found Commodore with at least one gunshot wound in the 2200 block of Sycamore Avenue about 7:15 p.m. Commodore also died at the scene."
"Neither the Contra Costa County Sheriff's Office nor Antioch police announced any arrests or identified any suspects in the shooting. They homicides were the first ones investigated by the agencies in 2026."
Authorities identified two victims of separate fatal shootings in eastern Contra Costa County during February 2026. Edward Garofalo IV, a 38-year-old Martinez resident, was found with a gunshot wound in unincorporated Oakley near Bethel Island on Monday evening and died at the scene. The second victim, 20-year-old Dimon Commodore from Antioch, was shot on February 19 and also died at the scene. Both incidents were investigated by their respective local law enforcement agencies, with the Contra Costa County Sheriff's Office handling Garofalo's case and Antioch police investigating Commodore's death. No arrests have been made or suspects identified in either shooting.
