Police on Friday night asked residents in Berkeley's Claremont neighborhood to shelter in place while they searched for a suspect in a double stabbing.
Police identified the suspect as 23-year-old Byron Decles. He is 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 9 inches tall and has blond hair. He was last seen wearing a black hat, a red or brown hooded sweatshirt and black pants, as well as carrying a large black backpack. The suspect is possibly armed with a cutting instrument and should not be approached, police said.
