Share the Spirit: Berkeley organization is a bright light for people with disabilities
Briefly

After nearly 30 years, Easy Does It Emergency Services has evolved from a local initiative run from a home to a crucial resource that has answered nearly 12,000 calls for assistance this year alone, reflecting the pressing need for reliable transportation and caregiving for people with disabilities.
Peni Hall, a long-term user of Easy Does It services, emphasized the importance of the organization, stating, 'It's not just a convenience, it's a necessity. We are very lucky we have it in Berkeley... it would be much harder without them.'
Easy Does It is requesting $15,000 to expand its wheelchair rescue program, aiming to assist 150 adults and seniors in Albany, El Cerrito, and Richmond who currently do not qualify for the existing services.
The nonprofit has upheld its mission by providing not only transport but reliable caregiving services, operating hour-round, and maintaining a focus on personalized connections with its clients.
