"Investigators are looking to identify the driver, who may not have known they struck a pedestrian," police said in a news release.
The driver of the Chevrolet did not stop at the scene and was last seen heading northbound on San Pablo Avenue, police said. The Chevrolet was later recovered in Oakland.
