San Jose office tower conversion to housing project formally launches

The goal of the revamp was to create a tower offering creative workplaces for small tech companies and startups. However, the coronavirus outbreak, business lockdowns, an uneven return to the workplace, tech layoffs and a fast-shifting economy forced Westbank and Urban Community to ponder alternative uses.
The residences are slated to be developed on floors two through 12, transforming the traditional office spaces into housing units, marking a significant shift in the building's intended purpose and design.
