Lydia Tan, the chief real estate officer for the Oakland Roots and Soul, expressed disappointment over the ProLogis deal falling through, stating, "We've definitely hit a bump with ProLogis, I wish we weren't here." She emphasized the team's ongoing efforts to engage with the community and expressed hope for finding a new partner to complete the transaction, aiming to sustain the club's presence at the facility.
Despite Oakland's eagerness to finalize the deal with ProLogis to benefit the soccer teams and support the city's ambitions for the 2026 men's World Cup, the deal collapsed unexpectedly. A ProLogis spokesperson commented, "After completing due diligence, we concluded that this deal ultimately is not going to work out and wish the best for the City, County and Roots as they move forward."
