Prop 1: Voters pass measure pushed by Gov. Newsom to tackle homelessness crisis in razor-thin win

This is the biggest change in decades in how California tackles homelessness, and a victory for doing things radically different.
Counties will now be required to spend about two-thirds of the money from a voter-approved tax enacted in 2004 on millionaires for mental health services on housing and programs for homeless people.
