As they've done on field for much of the baseball season, the Oakland A's came up short Monday night in their pursuit of public money for a new stadium in Las Vegas.The A's hopes for up to $380 million from the state of Nevada faltered as the state legislature adjourned without considering a bill proposing public financing to help pay for the construction of a new baseball stadium along the Las Vegas Strip.
