The new council and school board members will be sworn in, followed by the election of a new mayor and vice mayor. Everyone is invited to join in this celebration of our democracy!
The Piedmont City Council on Dec. 2 approved an additional $2.8 million, primarily from the city's Facilities Capital Fund, to complete the city's new pool. This action brings the total project cost to $34.9 million, a $6 million increase from the original project budget of $28.9 million. The project has incurred significant new costs due to weather-related delays, complex pool electrification, and soil disposal issues.
