Archbishop Gomez expressed deep remorse, stating, 'I am sorry for every one of these incidents, from the bottom of my heart,' indicating hope that the settlement offers healing.
Dan McNevin of SNAP described the settlement as 'a significant piece of justice for survivors,' though he emphasized that no amount of money can truly compensate for their trauma.
Attorneys noted that this agreement is the largest single child sex abuse settlement with a Catholic archdiocese, reflecting ongoing struggles with past abuses.
