Bay Area spellers advance at National Spelling Bee

Aren Lee and Aiden Meng, two talented middle-schoolers from the Bay Area, continued their journey in the Scripps National Spelling Bee after successfully spelling their challenging round-4 words. The competition, which involves 243 young spellers, includes various rounds of spelling and vocabulary tests. With a prize pool of $52,500 for the winner, the stakes are high as they compete live-streamed across multiple platforms. A third speller from the area, Rithvi Balajee, was eliminated but had previously advanced from the written test.
