Vanta, a compliance automation company, recently experienced a data exposure incident due to a product code change, not an intrusion. The issue was identified on May 26, with a complete remediation expected by June 4. Affected data involved a subset from fewer than 20% of their third-party integrations. Although under 4% of Vanta's customers were impacted, notifications were sent to those affected stating that employee account data had been inadvertently shared between instances. Vanta, which serves over 10,000 customers, has raised significant funding since its founding in 2018.
