UK, US sanction alleged hackers for role in 14-year campaign

The U.S. Department of Justice unsealed an indictment against seven alleged Chinese state-backed hackers, charging them with a 14-year campaign that targeted foreign critics, businesses, and politicians.
In conjunction with the indictment, the U.S. Department of the Treasury issued sanctions on two of the alleged hackers, as well as the front company that facilitated their ability to breach critical U.S. infrastructure.
Additionally, the U.K. government joined the U.S. in sanctioning the suspects for allegedly targeting members of Parliament and U.K. election systems in 2021 and 2022.
