Netherlands' AP fines ride sharing company 10M euros
Briefly

The AP has now determined that Uber's conduct violates Dutch data protection law. This has been established in two different ways. The app-builder violated the data minimisation principle by, among other things, retaining data for longer than is necessary. In addition, Uber also failed here to meet its obligation to provide insight into, and access to, this data.
Uber has neglected navigation of the security of personal data. The company has not taken enough organisational measures to ensure the safety of the personal data of Uber drivers and passengers.
