Meta has confirmed it is restarting AI training using public Facebook and Instagram posts from U.K. users after addressing regulatory concerns from the ICO and DPC.
The company states that the generative AI models will reflect British culture, history, and idiom, allowing U.K. companies to utilize this technology effectively.
To ensure transparency, Meta is incorporating regulatory feedback and will notify users in-app about its AI training practices and how it uses their public content.
Despite previous objections regarding user opt-out mechanisms, Meta will maintain the approach requiring users to go through an objection form, complicating the opt-out process.
