Greece will implement a ban on children under 15 accessing social media platforms, effective January 1, 2027. Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis announced this in a TikTok video aimed at teenagers. The ban will not allow parental consent exemptions and will be enforced through a state-mandated app on personal devices. The measure also aims to protect children from online gambling, alcohol, tobacco promotion, and explicit content. A February poll indicated that around 80% of Greeks support this initiative.
