""serious indications that indeed Shein may be posing more systemic risks for our consumers across the entire European Union,""
""First, what are the systems that the company has put in place to prevent these illegal goods from being sold online?""
""Second, what has the company done to prevent minors from accessing them?""
The European Commission has invoked the bloc's Digital Rulebook to request information from Shein about measures to protect children and prevent illegal goods. French authorities found childlike sex dolls and large quantities of illegal weapons, including firearms, knives and machetes, on Shein's website, prompting France to seek suspension of access and an EU investigation under the Digital Services Act. The Commission says there are serious indications of systemic risks across the EU and asked what systems Shein has to stop illegal listings and what steps it has taken to prevent minors accessing such items. Shein acknowledged the request and said it is in "dialogue" with regulators.
