French prosecutors opened investigations into Shein and rival online retailers AliExpress, Temu and Wish over the sale of sex dolls described as childlike. Shein said it will cooperate fully with judicial authorities and is prepared to share buyer names if requested. Shein committed to complete transparency, compliance with authorities, and implementation of safeguards to prevent recurrence, calling the incident serious, unacceptable and intolerable. France's anti-fraud unit reported Shein selling childlike sex dolls, prompting the probes. Shein enacted a total ban on sex-doll-type products and removed related listings and images. Finance Minister Roland Lescure warned of a market ban if the items reappear online.
