IKEA Is Quietly Replacing JoAnn for Fabric Lovers and Crafters Everywhere
Briefly

IKEA now sells precut fabric pieces measuring 59"x118" (about three yards) instead of continuous yardage. Precut fabrics are located in the home textiles section beside cushion covers. The offering includes a core collection plus new seasonal patterns, including several designs by Hannah Wilcox. Seventeen distinct patterns are available online. All fabrics are 100% cotton and suitable for curtains, crafts, and home accents. Prices range from $9.99 to $19.99. Customer reviews praise the quality, though one reviewer warned that some precut pieces were not cut straight, which may affect larger projects.
All fabric will be precut at IKEA moving forward; the cuts are 59"x118," so a little more than three yards in length. There will be no more continuous yardage in stores, which is too bad, but at least fabric isn't gone forever! The precut fabric can be found in the home textiles section, next to the cushion covers. IKEA offers a core collection of fabrics that are always available, but the brand also introduces new fabrics throughout the year.
For example, there are several new patterns from Hannah Wilcox in store and online right now, including a sunny yellow floral (shown above) and a mountainscape print (shown below). Currently, IKEA has a total of 17 patterns available on their site. At present, all of IKEA's fabric offerings are 100% cotton and suitable for making curtains, crafts, or home accents. While the customer reviews are overwhelmingly positive about the quality of the fabric, one reviewer did note that the precut fabrics were not cut straight.
