Shanghai Kitcho, located in the historic Shanghai Exhibition Center, redefines the Edo-mae sushi dining experience by incorporating traditional Japanese and Chinese design elements. The interior designed by Mitsuhiro Shoji features a striking fan-shaped ceiling and a hinoki wood counter, employing rich materials like Jingdezhen porcelain to create a warm and inviting atmosphere. Two private dining rooms offer contrasting aesthetics—one with washi textures and the other in serene silver leaf—enhancing the cultural dialogue within the space. This ambiance reflects a contemporary integration of heritage and modernity in dining.
The design at Shanghai Kitcho fuses Edo-mae sushi dining with traditional Chinese elements, creating a unique atmosphere where heritage and modern aesthetics harmoniously coexist.
