Checking In | Castelfalfi
Briefly

The author reflects on their preference for meticulously planned holidays, describing a recent spontaneous trip to Tuscany where they stayed at the luxurious Hotel Castelfalfi. Rather than following their usual routine of intensive planning and scheduling, they embraced a laid-back approach, allowing for flexibility and exploration. The hotel, a stunningly restored medieval village, offers diverse amenities and activities. Dining experiences, especially the famed Bistecca alla Fiorentina, highlighted the authenticity and culinary richness of the region, marking a refreshing departure from their normally hectic travel style.
To call Castelfalfi a hotel doesn't quite do it justice. It's a whole village - an ancient medieval borgo that's been meticulously restored and reimagined after being abandoned for 800 years.
We enjoyed the famous Bistecca alla Fiorentina - all 1kg of it - at the Tuscan trattoria Il Rosmarino, a beautiful restaurant with a terrace serving up classic Tuscan dishes.
