With iOS 18, iPhone users can now record videos with the audio playing, allowing for an effortless way to enhance video content, but at a cost.
To enable audio while recording video, navigate to Settings, then Camera, select Record Sound, and toggle on the 'Allow Audio Playback' setting.
This feature mirrors what was available through QuickTake in previous iOS versions, although the resolution is limited to 1440P instead of 4K.
For optimal audio quality, using a dedicated video editing app remains the best method to add soundtracks, rather than relying on this new shortcut.
