The men of the 126th Territorial Defense Brigade are among elite forces of the Ukrainian army, trained by British special operations forces, and have been conducting cross-river operations against Russian forces for two years.
Vyshyty, a company commander, emphasized the operation's risks, instructing his troops to hold positions and give covering fire if they need to retreat while evacuating the heavily wounded.
