Sertex Broadband Solutions Awarded Maine Contract

Sertex Broadband Solutions has been awarded a multi-million dollar contract by the Maine Connectivity Authority to construct a significant part of the Maine Online Optical Statewide Enabling Network (MOOSE Net). This network aims to provide affordable internet to rural areas, covering 450 miles of the project’s 530 miles. MOOSE Net will deliver high-capacity fiber connectivity to over 11,000 homes and 200 community institutions. Construction is set to begin this fall, with a completion target of two years, and it will create job opportunities in the local workforce.
Sertex Broadband Solutions has been awarded a multi-million dollar design-build contract by the Maine Connectivity Authority to engineer and construct the largest segment of MOOSE Net, bringing affordable internet connectivity to rural Maine.
MOOSE Net will support high-capacity fiber connectivity for over 11,000 homes and businesses as well as 200 community anchor institutions, maximizing public benefit and infrastructure resilience.
Once operational, MOOSE Net will provide a robust platform for expansion, helping internet service providers and other entities deliver 'last mile' connections.
The project, beginning in April with engineering and permitting, is scheduled for construction this fall and completion within two years, creating a significant local workforce.
