The independent review mandated by Gov. Kathy Hochul highlighted a need for CUNY to overhaul its policies to address antisemitism and discrimination on its campuses.
Despite claims of rising antisemitism, the review indicated that a small, vocal minority were responsible for the incidents, rather than a widespread issue across CUNY.
The report's author, Jonathan Lippman, recommended over a dozen measures to improve CUNY’s campus climate, including establishing a dedicated anti-hate center.
CUNY is already beginning to implement recommendations from the review, including launching the Center for Inclusive Excellence and Belonging to combat hate on campus.
