Nepal eyes tourism, economic boost with new digital nomad visa policy
Briefly

Nepal is set to introduce a digital nomad policy within a year, allowing remote workers to live and work in the country through a multiple-entry visa valid for five years. This policy, outlined in the Economic Reform Implementing Work Plan 2025, requires a monthly income of $1,500 or more, alongside health insurance and bank balance conditions. Digital nomads will also benefit from vehicle ownership, bank account access, and a favorable tax structure, enhancing their ability to work while enjoying life in Nepal.
The new digital nomad policy will allow remote workers to thrive in Nepal with a five-year visa, income tax stipulations, and vehicle ownership options.
Eligible digital nomads can acquire a visa that permits them to work remotely while having the opportunity to open bank accounts and own vehicles.
