Microsoft has announced that Windows 11 25H2 is set to release soon, primarily serving as an upgrade that activates new features from the existing Windows 11 24H2. Both versions share the same source code, which means that compatibility issues experienced with 24H2 will persist in 25H2. Jason Leznek, Principal Project Manager, emphasized that testing can focus on new features rather than worrying about full compatibility. The update comes after a troubled release for 24H2, which is marked by various errors and a need for compatibility holds on some devices.
It's good to know that Microsoft has heard of testing, since Windows 11 24H2 has had its share of issues since its 2024 release.
Windows 11, version 24H2 and version 25H2 share the same source code, with only the additional features turned on.
