Maine Will Vote on a New State Flag
Briefly

Out of more than 400 submissions, the winning flag for Maine's state flag redesign contest features an eastern white pine and a blue North Star on an off-white background, designed by Adam Lemire.
The new design by Adam Lemire maintains the simplicity of the original Pine Tree Flag used in the early 20th century, with a minimalist approach.
Maine's current flag, in use for over a century, depicts a farmer and a sailor standing on each side of an emblem with a moose under a pine tree, a star, and the state motto, Dirigo.
Adam Lemire, an architect from Gardiner, won the contest, keeping the essence of the old design while incorporating his take on the pine tree.
