With iOS 18, users can now replace the default camera app on the lock screen with third-party options like Halide or Obscura, enhancing customization.

To swap the default camera icon, users need to enter lock screen customization, delete the original icon, and select alternatives from a menu.

Once installed, tapping the new shortcut launches Obscura or Halide's capture screen, offering a seamless photography experience, albeit a tad slower than Apple's app.

Although accessing the photo library from third-party apps isn’t possible directly, users can still swipe to quickly access Apple's camera if needed.
