The float out of Royal Caribbean's Star of the Seas marked a significant milestone, as a thousand workers witnessed the process of launching the massive ship into the water.
With a capacity for nearly 8,000 passengers, Star of the Seas features amenities including eight neighborhoods, six water slides, and more than 40 dining and entertainment venues.
Despite environmental concerns, the Icon of the Seas has seen a spike in bookings and guest satisfaction, prompting Royal Caribbean to expand Icon Class with new ship constructions.
Royal Caribbean has initiated the development of a third Icon Class ship due for completion in 2026, with plans for a fourth in 2027, reflecting growing demand.
