Bosch is launching its first Matter-enabled refrigerator, the 100 Series Frech Door Bottom Mount Refrigerator, with plans to expand Matter compatibility across its appliance lines by 2026.
The 100 Series will support Matter 1.3, allowing users to control the appliance remotely and receive notifications via their preferred smart home platforms, significantly enhancing user interaction.
With Matter, the connection becomes local, ensuring faster and more secure communication, which is a crucial advantage over existing smart fridge technologies.
Energy management capabilities are on the horizon for the fridge, aiming for integration within a whole home energy management system, though existing appliances won’t receive Matter updates.
