Google Maps has introduced a praised update that shows users the optimal area to board a train for quicker exits. This feature was highlighted by a Reddit user and has received positive feedback from others who value its utility, particularly in navigating busy transport systems. Users have noted that similar functionalities were already available in places like Tokyo. To access this feature, users must have the latest version of Google Maps and look for the 'boarding position for fastest exit' section after selecting directions for public transport.
Maps now shows the best area to seat on the train for a faster exit... not that we had all that memorised already anyway.
I've recently been to Tokyo and they do this for all the metro lines. Plus tell you which entrance and exit to use at the stations.
It was a life saver when trying to navigate the busiest stations in the world! Happy this is in London as well now.
This knowledge should be earned, not given. It is what separates the locals from the tourists.
