While the Arlo Pro 5S 2K camera can function as a standalone device, it is really meant to integrate with other Arlo Home Security products for an optimal security system.
Arlo cameras are more expensive than alternatives like Eufy, and users may be frustrated that Arlo requires a subscription after purchasing the hardware.
If I buy the camera, I want to own the images. You don't buy a photography camera to pay the manufacturer for each photo.
