Generation LOST! A third of Gen Z use sat nav for every journey
"'I don't know my way around anywhere, it's the truth. Every single time I need to go somewhere, I've got to have my sat nav,' @cuzinsuzyofficial1 said on TikTok."
"'How did drivers cope without sat nav? Because I genuinely wouldn't make it out my area,' @daniellejohnstonex added."
"'What's clear is that drivers now expect things to just work - whether that's getting from A to B or getting behind the wheel in the first place,' said Aidan Rushby, founder and CEO of Carmoola."
"'Navigation has become second nature because it removes friction, and we're seeing that same expectation carry across the whole driving experience.'"
A survey of 2,000 Brits revealed that younger drivers, particularly those aged 25-34, are more likely to use sat nav systems for all journeys, including short trips. About 28% of this age group considers sat nav a 'non-negotiable' tool. In contrast, older drivers over 45 show more confidence in navigating without technology. The survey also indicated that younger drivers are less likely to rely on road signs if their sat nav loses signal. This reliance on technology reflects a broader expectation for seamless navigation in driving experiences.
