Israel has begun test flights of autonomous aircraft for heavy cargo, and eventually passenger transport, as part of the Israel National Drone Initiative, a two-year, government-led project to manage traffic congestion.Israel's Transportation Minister Miri Regev calls it "the first initiative of its kind in the world for an extensive and multidisciplinary examination of new technologies, including the transportation of cargo and later, people."
