"This is a transparency law, and in the court of public opinion, transparency is where you breed accountability," said Jaclyn Bowen, executive director of the Clean Label Project.
"With all this information going public, we're going to force the conversation - what are we feeding America's children?" Bowen added, emphasizing the importance of discussing healthy baby foods.
According to a 2021 congressional investigation, internal documents revealed baby food samples contained up to 177 times the lead level allowed in bottled water by federal agencies.
Over the last decade, investigations have discovered alarming levels of heavy metals in supermarket baby foods, raising concerns about safety for infants.
