On January 23, the Romford Town Centre police team participated in a day of action focused on mobile phone safety as part of a wider initiative by the Met Police. In collaboration with the Romford BID, enforcement teams, and local businesses, officers provided crime prevention tips, inspected pawn brokers, and engaged the community at a stall in The Liberty shopping center. The initiative led to multiple arrests and emphasized the importance of community involvement in reducing crime and fostering a safer environment for residents and businesses alike.
When the police, Havering enforcement, community safety officers, My Local Bobby, and local security teams actively engage with the community, it not only helps prevent crime but also fosters an atmosphere where businesses can thrive, and residents feel safe in their daily lives.
Officers engaged with residents and businesses by handing out crime prevention leaflets, offering advice, and inspecting second-hand phone sales to ensure the community's safety against mobile phone theft.
