Open, competitive civil service exams are held monthly in NYC for various roles with different deadlines. Apply online through OASys or at CTAC centers. Fees range $40-$101.
Application deadlines for positions like correction officer and traffic enforcement agent range from Aug. 27 to Oct. 11. Call center representative and environmental police officer applications also open.
NYC employs many across 80 agencies; exams are the entry point for most roles. Notifications are now email-only. Testing centers are available in Staten Island, Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, and the Bronx.
