NetApp’s latest upgrades to its AFF A- and C-series flash storage arrays significantly enhance capacity and performance, incorporating new 60TB drives and improved CPU technology.
The new-generation AFF A- and C-series models are modular and now include PCIe improvements, which facilitate in-place component upgrades without changing the entire chassis.
The performance-oriented A-series shows impressive speed enhancements, with the A20, A30, and A50 being 41%, 96%, and 153% quicker than their predecessors.
According to Grant Caley, NetApp's UK and Ireland solutions director, the shift from disk to flash storage has altered the focus of refreshes from disk performance to controller performance.
