CISPE alleged that Microsoft made it difficult for clients to change service providers by integrating its software with Azure, but dropped the case after a deal outside court.
Google offered €455 million worth of cloud software licenses for 5 years to European cloud firms to continue fighting Microsoft. Amazon also financially backed the case by $6 million.
Microsoft settled the antitrust case by offering enhanced Azure features to CISPE firms outside court, along with a €10 million financial contribution. Microsoft AWS is a founding member of CISPE.
