Historically, egress fees have been a significant concern for customers, especially those with large amounts of data or those switching between different cloud providers.
This move further strengthens the argument for certain customers to have two or more cloud vendors in their environment, so they don't just become another customer without pricing leverage with respect to their incumbent vendor.
