You'd Never Guess IKEA Plays a Big Role in This Small Postmodern-Inspired Apartment
"Before he purchased the small space in Paris' Saint-Denis neighborhood 11 months ago, the brand-new two-bedroom apartment was "completely untouched" and essentially empty of both stuff and character, according to Hentati. "I wanted to create the feeling of an art gallery, with a subtle masculine touch," he begins, describing the home he lives in alone. "The space reflects a mix of influences like modernism, brutalism, space age, and postmodernism.""
"He sees himself as a person who's "calm, structured, and attentive to details," and he also confesses to being drawn to the fun and timeless designs of the Bauhaus movement. "My home reflects this through a clean yet expressive aesthetic," he continues. "Every object is chosen with care, and friends often say my home truly reflects me: nonconformist, bold, and full of character.""
Hentati purchased a brand-new two-bedroom, 646-square-foot apartment in Paris’ Saint-Denis and transformed the empty space into a gallery-like, subtly masculine home. The interior mixes modernism, brutalism, space-age, postmodernism, and Bauhaus influences. The apartment pairs high-end designer pieces (such as Wassily and LC4 chairs, a first-edition Joe Colombo serving cart, and a marble coffee table) with affordable finds including IKEA lamps and the Dyvlinge armchair. Wall lights, vintage sculptures, and curated art reinforce a museum-quality atmosphere. Every object was selected deliberately to reflect a calm, structured, nonconformist, and bold character.
