Writer's House / em-estudio
"The House of a Writer is born from a central courtyard that articulates and gives meaning to all the spaces around it. The project embraces the traditional concept of the house with a courtyard, where a bookshelf -the protagonist in the double-height of the central space- becomes the axis that connects the various activities of the home centered around writing."

A central courtyard organizes the plan and gives spatial meaning to surrounding rooms. The layout revives the traditional house-with-courtyard typology, concentrating movement and views around the exterior void. A double-height central space houses a dominant bookshelf that functions as a spatial and programmatic axis. The bookshelf mediates circulation and links diverse domestic activities, positioning books and study as focal elements. Spatial organization prioritizes contemplation, collection display, and focused work areas while preserving the house’s domestic flows around the central courtyard and its visual continuity.
